Frilled and still original Dilo

I can´t believe noone has thought of this before.

Most dino-enthusiasts cringe upon seeing frilled Dilophosaurus everywhere in Video games etc. because there are apparently People which think this neck umbrella is the specific feature of Dilophosaurus, not those two bony crests above its eye. I´ve seen a few dinofans saying that if a game were to make a frilled Dilophosaurus, they at least could add some Twist to it by making the animal feathered, though the feather "frill" in those cases is usually just many long individual feathers arranged around the neck that make it look more like the head ornamentation of a Native American chief.

How come even the dino-enthusiasts of the "birds are dinosaurs and thus I treat them as equally awesome" kind seem to have never heard of the Great Crested Grebe? Seriously, look it up on Google Pictures. There has never been a bird which better could better translate Spielberg´s frilled Dilo on a feathered animal. Well, there´s also the Superb Bird of Paradise, but that´s a little too crazy.

Not only is your frill (being made up of thousand simple, thread-like filamentous feathers) plausible for the Dilophosaurus but the colors might be as well. So far, paleontologists have discovered feathered dinosaurs with different shades of yellow, orange, red, brown & black. So the colors you've depicted here with your Dilophosaurus are also plausible.
