The Chicken from Hell

In Latest Cretaceous Dakota, an adult male Anzu wyliei teaches a juvenile Tyrannosaurus rex a lesson in safety distances.

Anzu wyliei is a newly described oviraptorosaur which has already haunted the Internet for a couple of years, only known as the "Triebold caenagnathid". Now it finally has a Name, which is based on a feathered demon from Mesopotamian mythology. More popular is probably its other nickname, "Chicken from Hell". Considering this caenagnathid was twice the weight of an ostrich, both names are quite fitting (it is the second largest oviraptorosaur after the unchallenged Gigantoraptor).

There is no better way to make a "chicken from hell" more kickass than let it kick the youngster of the most famous dinosaurs of them all right in the face. I wanted to stay away from the usual cassowary or chicken look for oviraptorosaurs, so this one is based more on grouse with some peacock-pheasant thrown in for display.
